2nd Annual Brewfest - VEGAN STYLE, mutha fuckas!

For those lucky enough to snag some tickets to the already sold out 2nd Annual Brewfest, I've compiled a handy li'l list of what booze are animal free so you can get totally wasted while remaining totally ethical! Well, at least what you drink will be ethical... Cheers!!

Oh yeah, and my darlin' hubby did the freakin' sweet Brewfest TV commercial!

VEGAN BEERS
Ayinger, Beck's, Brooklyn Brewery (except for cask beers), Budweiser, Harpoon Brewery (even though the name is sooooo not vegan), Hoegaarden, Kona Brewing Company, Lindermans, Michelob (except Honey Lager), Red Hook, Rogue (except Honey Orange Wheat and cask beers), Samuel Adams (except Cherry Wheat and Honey Porter), Sweet Water Brewing Company, Terrapin Beer Company, Widmer Brothers Brewing Company (except KGB Russian Stout, Drop Top Amber, and Snow Plow Milk Stout), Woodchuck Draft Cider, Yuengling

EVIL NOT VEGAN BEERS (which contain the blood of babies)
Bass, Boddingtons, Shipyard Brewing Company, Stella Atrois

NOT SURE (some other beers I was originally unsure of turned out to be not vegan so take note!)
War of 1812, Clausthaler, Florida Beer Company, Krusovice, Orange Blossom Pilsner (advertised as honey beer so most likely is a no go), Radeberger, Redbridge, Lamuel Smith, Sea Dog Brewing Company, Stone Mill Organic Pale Ale (made by Michelob so it's most likely vegan but I can't guarantee it)

We totally wrote our asses off!!1!

We got a letter written to each of the SHAC7, who are incarcerated for up to 6 years for encouraging fellow activists to protest against Huntington Life Sciences, and each of the "Green Scare" defendants, who are incarcerated for up to 7 years for destroying equipment used for the slaughter of America's wild horses. Thanks so much Eddie, Ali, Gaia, Spence and Juni for dedicating your evening to those who are in the slammer for helping the animals!

We'll be including a copy of this group pic with each of the cards!

And that vegan grub was somethin' else. Next time, I think I'll bring me some vegan Pumpkin Whoopie Pies!!

DON'T FORGET!! It's Meow or Never For Ferals 1st Annual Veggie-Q at Town Brown Park THIS Saturday at 2pm! "We’ll be serving veggie burgers with all the works, fresh spring salads, baked beans, veggie kabobs, and assorted refreshments and desserts in return for donations. Pet friendly vendors will be on site to mingle with and we’ll also be hosting a raffle for a chance to win lots of awesome goodies for your furry family members!" Everything but the Kitty Litter Cake will be vegan, but the organizer and MoNFF founder, Dr. Karie Hyde, has promised that next years cake will be 100% animal free... hellz yeah. So put on yer bibs an' git ready for some bee bee que - Yee hay!!

Bagel Brunch-a-thon this WEDNESDAY!

I'll bring all the lit and nommies if you bring that good ol' acitivist hutzpah!

Brunch of bagels and coffee starts at 11:30 in front of Einstein's and we'll start leafletting once our bellies are full of vegan awesomeness, which'll probably be around noonish. If you come late, we'll be in the FSU Student Union and surrounding area. We'll be passing out Vegan Outreach's "Compassionate Choices" - all leaflets handed out will be added to the Adopt a Campus tally! I'll also have flyers for our Get Yo' Write On get-together.

See you kids there!!

Get Yo' Write On! - Party, potluck, book drive

Whoop outcha fat pants, gang, and get ready to gnosh on some scrumptious cruelty-free grub while reaching out to fellow activists (aka: "domestic terrorists") who are currently incarcerated for crimes as heinous as black faxing animal abusers or sabotaging canned wildlife hunts - those monsters!!

Join your local AR fam Wednesday at 8pm in Kretzmen Lounge in the FSU student union for happy times with crazy awesome peeps (note: student or not, all are welcome!). Bring your writing gear and any cards, letters, post cards and pictures (i.e. of you protesting!) you'd like to mail off to your new prison pen pal. Here's what you can and can't mail. We'll each write a little something on behalf of the group then pass it around for everyone to scribble their John Hancock and a li'l blurb if you feel so inclined. That way we each only have to write one letter/card but we sign like, a million. I'll bring a list of prisoners and what their in the slamma' for but just in case you like to plan ahead, it can be found here too.

Now, about the freakin' Foooooood!!! Out of respect for the animals, we ask that everything be vegan (including no honey - it's bug throw-up...grose). Need ideas of what to make our buy? Just shoot me an email or facebook message. For our mama earth we also ask you bring your own plate, flat ware and mug (for fair trade coffee with soy creamer!) but we'll have extras for you forgetful lame-oes ;)

We'll also be taking donations of soft cover books for Books to Prisoners, a Seattle based non-profit distributing lit for free to prisoners nation wide. Just about any lit will do but for a better idea of what they're looking for, check out the BtP site. Books are one of the few luxuries prisoners like our activist brothers and sisters can have so show some support and spread some knowledge.

Don't forget to RSVP to the facebook event and write on the wall what you want to bring to contribute to the vegan gluttony!

PACA Blog-allujah!!

Here ya have it, kids - PACAs got a freakin' blog! Now the whole web can see the glorious going-ons in Tallahassee's animal rights scene. Right on.

Today we kicked-off World Farm Animal Day by leafleting Vegan Outreach's fabulous new pamphlet - Compassionate Choices - in the FSU Student Union. As always, the reception was awesome and we even reached out to fellow activists who weren't aware of the group's presence in town! Join in making change you can be-leaflet in next Wednesday at 11am-noonish and Hari Krishna lunch after. If you need a ride, I have room in my wagon for 3 humans and a few canine babies - I'll bring steamin' hot fair trade coffee, vegan sugar and soy creamer if you bring a reusable mug. And if anyone feels like bringin' some vegan bagels and soy cream cheese, have at it ;) Fun times, fun peeps, makin' a difference so come be an active part of the revolution!!
